1. |
The Club
shall be known as the WADHURST BOWLS CLUB.
|

2. |
The
Officers of the Club shall consist of a President, Chairman,
Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Greenkeeper, Assistant Greenkeeper,
Saturday Captain, Sunday Captain, Mid-week Captain, Match Secretary,
Competition Secretary, County Representative, and Hall and Field
Representative.

An
individual, who is a member of the Club and who is elected to be an
Officer, shall be able to hold a maximum of not more than two positions
as defined in Rule 2 above.

4. |
The
Officers and any additional (Maximum of 4) members elected to committee
shall retire at the close of the Annual General Meeting and shall be
eligible for re-election during that meeting.
|

5. |
The Annual
General Meeting shall be held within not less than nine months and not
more than fifteen months from the previous General meeting. Al least
fourteen days notice shall be given of such a meeting.
|

6. |
Only fully
paid up members shall be allowed to be present and to speak and to vote
at either an Annual General Meeting or Extraordinary General Meeting
unless a Member requests that a Proxy be appointed on a Member’s
behalf. In these circumstances a proxy, shall be allowed to be present
and to vote but not to speak at either class of meeting. All
resolutions shall be passed by a simple majority of the Members present
and entitled to vote. Proxies may only vote on a poll. If it is
thought necessary to invite a person other than a Member to address the
Club, the Committee shall call a Special Meeting solely for this
purpose. At such a Meeting all Members, proxies and invited individuals
may address the Club, and no motion or vote shall occur.

A quorum at
Annual General Meeting or Extraordinary General Meeting shall consist of
not less than one quarter of the fully paid up members.
|

8. |
The
Committee shall consist of the Officers of the Club together with up to
four (4) additional Members elected at the Annual General Meeting.
|

9. |
The
Committee shall transact the ordinary business of the Club; shall
regulate the opening and closing of the green; shall arrange matches and
competitions; shall decide handicaps; and shall have the power to
co-opt. Co-opted individuals shall not be allowed to vote in Committee.

10. |
A quoru A Quorum at Committee Meetings shall
consists of no less than half of the individuals elected to the
Committee at the previous Annual General Meeting as either Officers or
additional (maximum of 4) Members. If it is possible for a quorum to be
assembled, an Extraordinary General Meeting shall immediately be called
to re-elect existing and/or elect new Officers.

11. |
Any matters
of dispute will be referred to the Committee and its decision is final.
|
|
12. |
The
Committee shall have the power to expel any Members whose conduct shall,
in it’s judgement, calculate to bring the Club into dispute. Any such
Member will have the right of appeal against expulsion by requesting an
Extraordinary General meeting being called specifically for the purpose
of considering the proposed expulsion. If, by a simple majority, the
Committee’s decision is upheld, the member shall consider himself or
herself duly expelled. No expelled Member may enter into the Club’s
premises, nor be introduced as a visitor, nor attend any activity or
meeting of the Club.

13. |
Application
for Membership of the Club shall be made in writing to the Secretary for
consideration at the next Committee Meeting. The name of any approved
Member shall, when appropriate, be added to the list of Members in the
Clubhouse.

14. |
The
Committee shall recommend any changes of the size of the Membership of
the Club at the AGM.
|
|
15. |
The
Committee shall recommend any changes to the annual subscriptions, match
fees, or any other charges at the Annual General Meeting.
|
|
16. |
Annual
subscriptions are payable by 1st May each year and County
Competitions entry subscriptions are payable with the entry in the
previous October. Non-payers will be excluded from all Club games.
|
|
17. |
The Club
shall be affiliated to the English Bowling Association and to the Sussex
County Bowling Association.
|
|
18. |
No dogs
shall be admitted to the area surrounding the Green or the Clubhouse
unless under strict control.
|
|
19. |
Dress code:
FOOTWEAR: No player will be allowed on
green if not wearing brown, grey or white bowls shoes or sandals,
home or away.
CLUB COLOURS :
Are permitted to be worn at all Club, National & County competitions
home and away; with away club or authorities permission.
It is not compulsory to wear club colours
and disciplinary action will not be taken if member declines. For Nat
and County competitions complete rink to wear coloured or white shirts,
but not mixed.
Otherwise white above the waist will be enforced.
Gentlemen to wear long grey or white
regulation trousers. Jeans are not permitted.
Ladies must wear grey, white or cream
skirts, culottes, cropped or tailored trousers.
Tights are not compulsory.
All in accordance with the EBA and EWBA
guidelines.
Shorts can only be worn during roll-ups
providing they are knee length, white or grey and of tasteful design.

20. |
The Green
shall be open for play when considered fit by the Greenkeeper or
Assistant Greenkeeper and ground sheets must be used if so directed.
Markers setting out the boundary of each rink, or strings attached where
appropriate, must be adhered to.

21. |
Priority as
to rink precedence shall be as follows:
(1) County Competitions (2) League Matches (3) External Competitions (4)
Club Competitions.
The drawing of rinks shall only apply to Club and County Competitions.

22. |
All
equipment, except that being the personal property of individual Members
and Visitors, which is within the boundary of the Club (which includes
the Green, the area surrounding the Green, the Clubhouse and/or any shed
or storage used for any such purpose0 shall be deemed the property of
the Club. Such equipment is for the use of Wadhurst Bowls Club only and
must not be removed without the Committee’s permission.

23. |
No smoking
is permitted inside the Clubhouse by Members or Visitors.
|
|
24. |
Cigarettes
ends and matches must be put in boxes provided for the purpose on the
Green surrounds.
|
|
25. |
Cars should
be parked where directed and not between Bowls and Cricket Clubhouses.
Cars are parked at owner’s risk and a notice showing this is to be
displayed in the parking area. Drivers must not drive around the
outfield of the Cricket ground whilst an over is in progress and, when
appropriate to do so, should proceed at a slow speed.

26. |
Members
shall familiarise themselves both with the Rules of the Club and the
Laws of the Game and shall be responsible for the conduct of their
guests in these regards.

27. |
Non-members
who are not taking part in a recognised competition or who are not
playing for an invited visiting Club may use the bowling facilities of
the Club if they have been introduced by an existing Member. The names
of such individuals must be entered in the ‘Visitors Book’, and signed
in by an existing Member. Visitors are allowed to play a maximum of 4
games per season whereupon written application for Membership should be
sought.

28. |
A list of
the present Officers of the Club and additional (maximum of 4) elected
at the Annual General Meeting shall be displayed in the Clubhouse. The
size of the membership of the Club and the various subscriptions payable
(see Rule 14 & 15) shall be displayed in the Clubhouse. Changes to these
as agreed at the Annual General Meeting shall not constitute a change in
the Rules of the Club.

29. |
Alterations to the Rules can
only be made at the Annual General meeting or an Extraordinary General
Meeting called for the specific purpose. Proposals for alterations of
the Rules of the Club can only be made in writing to the Secretary no
later than one month prior to the next Annual General Meeting or
Extraordinary Meeting. |
